Certain periods of the year are quiet for the major airlines, and
certain periods are busy. In the quiet times prices are lower to
encourage bookings, when the quiet times end, prices always increase
(the odd one or two may not but the bulk do).

Just before Christmas is a good example of a quiet period, then come
the New Year lots of people decide to look for flights and holidays.
But just before the rush of the New Year, the prices go up, year after
year.

This week is (for most schools in England at least) half-term week.
Lots of people are busy doing other things so it is normally a quiet
week for the big operators. So if you are thinking about booking
flights for the Winter or even planning next Summer's flights this is
a very good time to book. Of course there will still be deals after
next week, but experience has shown us that lots of fares will
increase on or around next Monday.
