GOAL: 100,000 signatures

With nearly 10,000 signatures, our goal of 100,000 is within reach.

Let's build on this momentum and keep going!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

We urgently call upon major LGBTQIA2S+ organizations to abandon their silence and "neutrality," imploring them to publicly advocate for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza. We urge prominent LGBTQIA2S+ civil rights organizations to align with their mission statements. Offering constructive criticism is fueled by our genuine concern, emphasizing our commitment to ensuring active fulfillment of LGBTQIA2S+ equality goals through accountability.

Examples of such organizations include, but are not limited to:

With the death toll in the Gaza Strip surpassing 20,000 and continuing due to Israel's sustained bombardment over the past 10 weeks, choosing silence equates to complicity in an ongoing genocide and settler colonialism.

We condemn the Israeli Occupation Force (IOF) for their reprehensible use of "pinkwashing" — a deceptive practice wherein they portray themselves as champions of LGBTQIA2S+ rights, using symbols like the rainbow flag and LGBTQIA2S+ friendly marketing to divert attention from their nefarious actions. This manipulative strategy aims to sway public opinion in their favor while engaging in genocide and various war crimes.

Recent instances of pinkwashing include but are not limited to: IOF soldiers displaying pride flags on Palestinian land in Gaza, Israeli propaganda videos falsely asserting that queer individuals would face death if they visited Gaza, and exaggerated claims portraying the IOF as the true 'freedom fighters of the Middle East.' These misleading and false assertions about being champions of queer rights persist even as queer Palestinians fight to be acknowledged and remembered in their lives and deaths.

We firmly denounce the cynical use of queer symbols for colonial propaganda and condemn LGBTQIA2S+ organizations that have remained silent or "neutral" in the face of genocide.

We urge LGBTQIA2S+ individuals, advocacy groups, and leaders worldwide to:

  • Call for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza.
  • Use resources, political power and influence to pressure officials for a permanent ceasefire and an end to U.S. aid to Israel.
  • End all financial partnerships with entities supporting Israeli/U.S. military actions; particularly those involved in military weapons manufacturing.
  • Include queer Palestinians in pursuits of LGBTQIA2S+ justice.
  • Denounce the cynical use of LGBTQIA2S+ symbols for colonial pinkwashing propaganda.
  • Raise awareness about the true struggles faced by queer Palestinians and the LGBTQIA2S+ community around the world, in the context of settler-colonial violence.

We, the undersigned members of the LGBTQIA2S+ community and allies, stand in unwavering solidarity with our queer siblings in Palestine, bravely facing the violence and weaponization of homophobia perpetrated by the Israeli settler colonial project.

We urge all LGBTQIA2S+ organizations to act now! Our Palestinian LGBTQIA2S+ siblings' greatest threat to safety and freedom is violence at the hands of the state of Israel. Your organizations have the power to meaningfully influence public discourse and political opinion to end the injustices Palestinians face urgently in Gaza.

In the spirit of revolutionary love, we affirm:

THERE IS NO PRIDE IN GENOCIDE.

This includes the ongoing genocides in Gaza, Sudan, Myanmar, Congo, Turtle Island, China, Ethiopia, Iraq, Syria, and others worldwide. There is also no pride in settler-colonialism. Our pride thrives in genuine liberation, fostering a world where everyone lives freely and authentically.

LGBTQIA2S+ Solidarity for True Liberation in Palestine.
